Đuro Đaković foundations were set 86 years before, when the First Wagon, Machine and Bridge Factory "was established, one of the factories with the longest history in this part of Europe. The beginnings were marked with manufacture and revision of wagons and locomotives, steel bridges and bridge constructions, production of machinery , which defined production program retained to these days. Besides, the group has production program for oil refineries, sugar factories, cement industry, erection and electro installation works, production of tools, machine tools and military industry. Industrial zone Đuro Đaković started a free zone six years ago, having nowadays 39 active users, 21 of them developing production activities. In this year, we expect positive outcome of projects out of 2006 and successful start up of the new projects such as: . Freight cars for Croatian Railways . Battle armoured vehicle for Croatian Army . Modernization of oil refineries (production of components and assembly) . Storage tank farm for Janaf . Power plants for Croatian Electro utilities . Infrastructural objects for Croatian Roads . Production of components for wind power plants . Development of cogeneration plants on solid biomass . Entry into area of civil engineering The business plan for 2007 has foreseen 923 million kuna of total turnover, which represents significant increase of 10,62% in relation to previous year. Domestic market will bring 615 million kn, and foreign markets about 292 million kuna. Also on the level of the group, all companies have planned profit in the amount of 16 million kuna. Parallel with continuation of the process of privatization in 2007 Đuro Đaković Holding d.d. will exert strong influence and support for the following trends in the companies: . Technical and technological strengthening of each company . Promote development of human resources through constant investments into training and education, but also acquisition of new highly trained personnel. ĐĐ Holding will take over the role of organizer of the whole row of extended psycho tests of the young personnel, to help them profile themselves towards education and specialization, which is insufficient for the needs of the companies. We will also continue our cooperation with faculties and other educational institutions. . To create and stimulate strategies for opening of centres of excellence as spots unifying and coordinating all knowledge required for production and service, which then become competitive on the markets of the world, after being developed, produced and placed. . To maintain a continuous organizational progress; prerequisite is the acquiring of all technical standards. . To go on conquest of new markets through increase of the sale volume and quality improvements. Each company must recognize its advantages and faults, the environment in which it develops its activities and then endeavour to bring company into circumstances where all the toil will bring more fruits. Each company must assess its market position, i.e. recognize what are the results of their efforts. In this moment, each company must know what is the best, and to be able to make use of it. . For the purpose of improvement of infrastructure within the zone, reach agreement with town Slavonski Brod on defining the zone as the town business zone, and name it officially so. The goal is to improve business conditions and reduce costs. This year construction of road from North Connection Road will be realized, to enable better and easier access to the industrial zone Đuro Đaković.
