On occasion of 85th jubilee, a new monograph of Đuro Đaković was announced. Đuro Đaković Holding d.d. management in cooperation with Đuro Đaković retirees plan to publish a book, which will give complete history of development of the largest Brod industry. Monograph is for now close to high level of completeness, larger part of material has been collected, and concept of the new monograph has been established. We plan to complete the rest of preparations, printing and promotion during summer holidays.
Early stages from foundation of the Wagon Factory Brod until 50-year jubilee day will be taken over for the most part from ĐĐ Monograph published in 1971. In continuation monograph depicts time period from 1971 until 2000, period when the Group reached in the most of its production programs huge deliveries of goods and services. This success was the joint work of managers, technical, commercial executives and workforce composed mainly of town and village population, relying on professional experience acquired in the previous period, which is essential for this type of production of traffic and industrial equipment. Generation of boys and girls trained after end of the World War II took over responsibility to maintain leading position of Đuro Đaković on the market. Political and economic environment (self-government) changed with time, mainly under increasingly more difficult conditions of running business, which has not been sufficiently appreciated in
Croatia. We want to illustrate in the monograph the main events and achievements of our companies, present data and information about events in production programs and markets. We think monograph will illustrate values, the power of knowledge, and the way in which jobs are organized, high level of expertise of workers in production of highly complex products. The past "industrial age" is being transformed today. It is now producing for new markets. Therefore, with expiration of 85 years of work of people should not "vanish", stay unrecorded, because finally the economic results and independent business of Đuro Đaković were for years source of earning for numerous families, served for common cause and finally ensured
Croatia's continuous economic development now and in the future. We hope that Monograph and the collected material published in one volume will open discussion on organization of economy and distribution of power in democratic society.
